We have some exciting news to share! We’re thrilled to announce that we are a founding member of the newly formed GVHD Alliance — a ground-breaking collaboration between some of the most influential transplant organizations in the world. As a collective, we can expand upon our missions and use our shared power to bring about even greater advances for people suffering from graft versus host disease, and the community supporting them.
We’re joined in the Alliance by:
- The American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT)
- Be The Match (operated by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP))
- The Blood & Marrow Transplant Information Network (BMT InfoNet), and
- The National Bone Marrow Transplant Link (nbmtLINK)
A New Hub for GVHD Resources
The Alliance’s newly launched website offers a wealth of information and resources for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers from all its founding members. You’ll find free downloads, videos, podcasts, and more on how to:
- Identify the disease
- Find a specialist
- Live (and thrive!) with GVHD
- Manage symptoms
- Support emotional and mental wellbeing
- Access support groups
- Find community events, and much more!
Many of the resources are available in Spanish as well.
“This is Where Change Begins” – Introducing the First Ever GVHD Day!
Education is power, and the more people who know about GVHD the more support we can rally around research and treatment advances. But unless someone has been personally affected by GVHD, they often don’t know much about the disease…until now!
For the first time ever, the GVHD Alliance has designated February 17th as GVHD Day! It’s a day for anyone and everyone, regardless of their connection to the disease, to help spread the word and raise awareness about GVHD within their own circles of influence.
Participating is easy — simply share a link to the Alliance website, or any of the educational materials found here, along with the hashtag #GVHDday or #GVHDconnect4hope on social media and you’ve done your part…it’s as simple as that.
Together we can spread the word far and wide — we hope you’ll join us!
The GVHD Alliance and GVHD Day are supported by Sanofi.
